The Driving & Vehicles Standard Agency set the UK guidelines for MOT test prices. So, being a Class 4 MOT Testing Centre I can confirm that the class 4 MOT standard fee is set a £54.85.

But hold on a minute, that seems quite expensive!

Will your MOT always cost this much? The answer is NO, it won’t. For instance, most local MOT testing stations charge less than this. Because the DVSA’s MOT price is set as a maximum national limit, it allows some garages to set a lower rate. So make sure that you shop around, as you will usually find a lower price with a garage that you can trust!
