PUNCTURE REPAIRS In Wakefield

Sometimes you may not need a new tyre, and a puncture repair is possible. For instance, if there is a nail or screw in your tyre, but the tyre is not flat. If that’s the case, then leave the offending item in the tyre and call us. We offer quick and cheap puncture repairs within our garage in Wakefield.

There are some instances when puncture repairs aren’t possible. For example, we can not repair some high-performance speed tyres for legal reasons. Also, run-flat tyres are generally not repairable. If this is the case, then we can help you decide on a cost-effective replacement tyre.

If you’re not sure whether you need a tyre repair or new tyre, then get in touch and ask us.

HOW OFTEN SHOULD YOU CHECK YOUR TYRES?

To ensure your car is safe and roadworthy you should check your tyres regularly. There are a few key areas which require regular checks, these are:

  • Tyre Pressure – ideally you should check this monthly. Make sure your pressure is not higher or lower than recommended. Why? Because under-inflated tyres increase rolling resistance on the road (reduced fuel efficiency and increased CO2 emissions). As for over-inflated tyres these experience excessive wear and a loss of traction (poor braking). Also, seasonally you may need to adjust your pressure – check out our article on 5 Essential Autumn Checks for more information.
  • Tyre Tread – this needs checking less frequently, maybe quarterly. The treads are the grooves in your tyre. You can measure the depth to check how much life is left in your tyre (should be at least 1.6mm). However, if you truly want safe tyres then you need a new tyre when the tread is 3mm.

If you need help checking your tyre pressure or tyre tread then please get in touch. Or pop in and see us. We will check your tyres for FREE.
